Sermon Notes:-
Scripture Text: Proverbs 6:32-33
"(32) But whosoever committed adultery with a woman lacketh understanding. He that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. (33) A wound and dishonor shall he get and his reproach shall not be wiped out."
Please hear this: An adulterous man is but a walking titled dead corpse. Ignorance is not an immunity to this hairy bondage. Untamed erections lead to distinct offense and destruction. To get a clear picture, read the whole of Genesis chapter 20.
Abraham was in Gerar as a foreigner and introduced his wife, Sarah, as his sister. The King, Abimelech, took interest in Sarah and sent for her. He did not know she was married. God came to Abimelech in a dream and told him: "You are a dead man."
The punishment for sleeping with another man's wife is death—it could be death in your career, business, relationships, or even physical death. The only reason God spared Abimelech was because he had not touched her yet. God knows our hearts, but He also knows the gravity of this sin.
The curse of adultery goes beyond just the man; it spills over to his family, children, and household. Today, people no longer hide to do it, yet the punishment remains the same. If you are involved or intending to practice, please run—it is a death trap. Don't say it's Satan; he never unzipped your trousers. It is a choice that leads to the gate of death.
What to do if you have fallen?
Locate Jesus immediately. 1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Confess, ask for forgiveness, and make sure you do not go back to it again.
Prayer: "Father, save me from strange women and give me the courage to stay away from such destruction. Protect my home and my soul. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Forever Oh Lord thy word is settled in heaven (Psalms 119:89). Jesus never fails. Remain lifted.
