Sermon Notes:-
Hallelujah. Thoughtful hearts are thankful hearts. The Lord created all things to give Him praise. "This people have I formed for myself: they shall shew forth my praise" (Isaiah 43:21). Praise is the fundamental obligation of every creature to the Creator.
What is Praise?
Praise is saying good things about someone. For a Christian, praise is the joyful thanking and adoration of God, the celebration of His goodness and grace.
Why must we praise?
- Praise changes our spiritual climate: Even when we feel abandoned, praise breaks chains. Paul and Silas sang praises at midnight and the prison doors were opened (Acts 16:25-26).
- Praise releases ability: Anytime we faithfully praise, capacity is built and great deeds are done.
- Praise attracts God's presence: It reminds you of His presence and invites Him into your life.
- Praise crucifies pride: It humbles us and helps us die daily so that God is raised (1 Cor 15:31).
How do we praise God effectively? "Bless be the Lord O my soul, and forget not all his benefits" (Psalms 103:2). Thoughtful praise commands faithful praise. Putting to remembrance God's deeds inspires our lifestyle of praise.
Acceptable praise is offered in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). God can be communicated by prayer but is most honoured through praise. Be still. Forever O Lord thy word is settled in heaven (Psalms 119:89). Jesus never fails. Remain lifted.
